Healthy Eating And Your Heart

A bad diet with cholesterol is something we all have experienced at some point. Although, we may always be trying hard to eat healthy during our lifetime, there is no one that has ever always been able to eat completely healthy their whole lives. Eating healthy for a healthy heart is something that everyone should do, especially for good health restoration, and in making sure to eat healthy for reducing heart attacks. By following along with some sound advise you will help prevent heart disease and improve your overall healthiness.

Your Heart And Food

There are certain things that we know for sure: A diet that is high in saturated fat will raise your cholesterol, and this is a high risk factor for developing heart disease. We know that obese people are more prone to eventually getting heart disease. We also know that a diet that is high in sodium is more likely to elevate blood pressure, and could eventually lead to inflammation or even heart disease.

Eat Lots Of Fish

By making sure to consume plenty of Omega 3 in Essential Fatty Acids, you will be helping to loweryour cholesterol to a healthier level. To get enough Omega 3, you must have some source of fish several times a week. There are many kinds of fish to choose from, but if you need some ideas to get started, there is Salmon, Herring and Sardines, that are all excellent sources of Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids.

Choosing Healthy Fats And Oils

It is now known that saturated fats will increase the risks of heart disease. Saturated fats are in re meats, butter, and coconut oil. Saturated fats need to be avoided until your overall cholesterol levels are lowered, and you are at normal weight. For those that love red meats, most of them will also enjoy seafood and nuts as sources of protein. For a healthy choice of non-saturated fat oils, there are such oils as Olive Oil for protecting your heart.

Plenty Of Fiber

By making sure to get plenty of Fiber on a daily basis, you will naturally be lowering your cholesterol levels. Fiber is easily found in flaxseed and whole grain products. Fiber is also good for absorbing sugar, and this is important for keeping your digestive system in healthy shape.

Choosing The Right Carbohydrates

When eating consciously for your heart, you will want to stay away from sugar foods such as candies, cookies, cakes, and pastries. When there is too much sugary intake, the chances of heart disease will increase. By eating healthy carbohydrates of whole grain bread, brown rice, whole grain pasta and many vegetables and fruits, you will then have a healthier body and heart.

Healthy Cooking Methods

Stop frying your foods in batters and the wrong oils, and start stir frying with olive oil and canola oil instead. When cooking chicken, make sure to remove the skin and thenbake it in foil. Steam you fresh vegetables to keep in most all of the nutrients. Avoid cream sauces and butter, it is best to use things like lemon juice or your favorite spices to add flavor to your foods in a healthy way. With a few changes in habits and food choices, you will be protecting the healthiness of your heart.
