There are many healthy foods, but have you ever wondered what is actually the healthiest out of all of the good foods to choose from? With a little knowledge of what the best choices should be when you are really wanting to only eat right, you will no longer have to question twice on what foods give the most vitamins and protein.

Healthy Eating: Fruits

Apricots

Apricots are a wonderful choice when looking to get more Beta-Carotene into your diet. Beta-carotene is very good in preventing radical damage and in protecting the health of the eyes. There are only 17 calories and 0 fat grams, along with 1 gram of fiber in one apricot. Apricots can be eaten dried or as a raw fresh fruit. Either way you choose to eat them, they are always sweet and tasty.

Mango

Just one medium Mango packs a whopping 57mgs of vitamin C, and this is nearly your entire daily dosage required all in one sitting. Mangoes are a juicy and sweet antioxidant, and mango is also known to help prevent arthritis, while at the same time, boosting your immune system too!

Cantaloupe

Cantaloupes are packed full of several recommended vitamins and minerals, and with only a very small amount of calories. There are only 97 calories and only 1 gram of fat. Cantaloupes contain 853 MG of potassium, and potassium is important in lowering blood pressure. The Cantaloupe's potassium level is almost twice as much as one banana contains. There is 117 GG of vitamin C in the cantaloupe, and this is close to twice the daily recommended dosage. There is only 1 gram of fat, but there is a good 2 grams of fiber content in the cantaloupe.

Tomato

Just by eating one Tomato a day, you can cut the risks in half of bladder cancer, stomach cancer and colon cancer. A Tomato contains only 26 calories, 0 fat, and 3 grams of fiber.

Healthy Eating: Vegetables

Onions

Onions are known to protect against cancers, and they can be eaten in several versatile ways of many combinations, from raw to cooked.

Broccoli And Spinach

Broccoli is a protector against breast cancer and contains good amounts of vitamin C and Beta-carotene. The other green vegetable of Spinach contains carotenoids, that is helpful in fending off muscular degeneration, the major cause of blindness in the elderly.

Healthy Eating: Grains, Beans, and Nuts

Peanuts

All nuts, including peanuts are known to lower your risk of heart disease by at least 20%. It only takes one ounce a day, and out of that one ounce, there is only 14 grams of fat, 166 calories, and over 2 grams of fiber.

Beans

Foliate is important to get daily, and by having only a half of a cup of pinto beans, you will be getting more than 25% of your daily foliate required intake. Foliate is important for heart disease protection and pinto beans of only a half of a cup gives a good 6 grams of fiber.

The last two very important daily needed foods are skim milk and seafood. The milk and any variety of seafood will give all kinds of important vitamins, minerals and fatty acids. It is important to remember that eating well does not only make a person feel healthier, but look healthier too.
